Owner and principal ballet teacher at the Constantiaberg Dance Academy (CDA), matriculated from Pro Arte Ballet School in Pretoria with a distinction in Ballet, and completed her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced ballet examination. In addition to the RAD ballet method her training at Pro Arte included examinations in the Russian Vaganova method and classes in the Cecchetti method. She also studied Modern Dance, Classical Greek, Contemporary Dance, Jazz, National dance and Spanish Dance.
After spending a brief period in the USA, she completed her BMus in Dance at the University of Cape Town (UCT) including the Benesh Notation, ballet, contemporary, African dance, modern dance, pshychology and obtained a RAD Teaching Certificate. Prior to taking over the Constantiaberg Dance Academy, Ilze spent a year in Portugal teaching ballet with the assistance of a translator, then returned to Cape Town and taught Creative Movement at Reddam House.
Subsequently she has examined dance pupils at Reddam House and teaching method students at UCT. Ilze belongs to many dance associations in Cape Town and she has presented courses for the Department of Arts and Culture, and teaches Pilates classes. She has a great interest in Child Psychology and is working towards her Honour’s degree.
Teacher at the Constantiaberg Dance Academy. Nicole matriculated from Springfield Convent in 2011 and has danced throughout her entire school career. She was a member of the Cape Junior Ballet Company for 7 years and was fortunate enough to have been invited to perform and tour in Portugal and Germany. She has taken part in the Grahamstown Art Festival several times and has danced in numerous ballets in conjunction with the Cape Town City Ballet Company.
Nicole, as a young dancer, was trained in ballet, modern and tap dancing with Kim Day, Dianne Cheesman, Colleen Kitching and Denise Morrison. She currently dances with Kristy Brown and Brigitte Reeve Taylor and trains in modern and Horton. With the exposure to various genres of dance, Nicole has a passion for teaching the Royal Academy of Dance ballet method, as she believes that ballet is every dancers foundation and it teaches them control, strength and discipline.
Nicole studied graphic design and marketing at VEGA, School of Brand Leadership and has qualified with her BA degree in Creative Brand Communications (2014). She is currently enrolled with the Royal Academy of Dance via London to complete her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies.
